What is Abdominoplasty?

Abdominoplasty is an operation at which excessive fat and saggy skin is removed and abdominal muscles are streched. This operation corrects the look of the belly.

Who should consider getting an Abdominoplasty?

Abdominoplasty is performed for patients who suffer from the saggy abdomen skin or patients who have loosened muscles. This operation is extremely effective for women who gave birth with surgery, who has cracked skin in abdominal area, and has weak abdominal muscles.

How is an Abdominoplasty done?

Abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia, and abdominal skin is released from front wall muscles starting at pubic area till ribs. Excessive skin is cut and removed. It is closed with intradermic stitching and covered with medical dressing. In order to remove the excessive fluid that will be swarmed to the area, a temporary drain might be placed under the skin. Drains are removed after 24 hours. Surgery takes around 3 hours. Patients are discharged 2 days after the surgery. With 10 days of recovery, you can go back to your daily routine.

Does Abdominoplasty leave scars?

Abdominoplasty will leave a horizontal incision mark. However, due to the incision being placed low, it can easily be hidden under the swimsuit.
